The Last Will Be First

Most of us have a deep instinct for fairness — and Jesus told a parable that seems to violate it completely. Workers hired at the end of the day receive the same wage as those who labored through the scorching heat since dawn. Some walk away astonished. Others walk away furious. The difference between them has nothing to do with how hard they worked — and everything to do with what they were trusting while they worked.
